CHESTER, Pa. – Widener Athletics highlights Head Women's Basketball Coach Alisa Kintner for the first installation of Women's History Month.

Coach Kintner highlights the first installation of the Widener Athletics Women's History Month spotlight after advancing to the MAC Commonwealth Championship game this past weekend. The Pride showed their grit this season with a final record of 18-9 with a 10-4 MAC Commonwealth record. The season was capped off with All-Conference selections for post player Mia Robbins and guard Lindsay Kutz.

Kintner's wealth of coaching shows as she has been at Widener for 22 years and in the coaching business for 24. Throughout Coach Kintner's time at Widener she has amassed a 342-229 overall record and has made three NCAA tournament appearances. Her tenure at Widener has developed a deep history of All-Conference players such as Jordan D'Ambrosio, Devin Rimmer, Ally Ferrucci, and Kate Dellinger.

Still talked about nearly a decade later, the 2012-13 Pride put together the best season of any women's program in school history, advancing to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Tournament. The team amassed a 24-6 mark and set school records for overall and league wins (16) and became the first women's program at Widener to win an NCAA Tournament game. The Pride beat four ranked teams, including No. 9 Catholic in the Second Round of NCAA Championship and No. 16 Messiah in the sectional semifinals. Kintner was named both the Commonwealth Conference and D3Hoops.com Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year. In the final polls of the season following the tournament, Widener was ranked 12th by D3Hoops.com and 13th by the WBCA.

Kintner's coaching days were brought up from her playing days on the court where she graduated from Delaware Valley in 2001 with a degree in business education. On the court, Kintner wrapped up her playing days with 1131 points. For her four years, she was inducted to Delaware Valley's Hall of Fame in 2009 and to the Middle Atlantic Conference Hall of Fame in 2020.
