NEWTOWN, Pa. – Widener Women's Basketball finished second in the MAC Commonwealth Coaches' Preseason Poll, as announced by the conference office on Thursday (Oct. 23).

Widener received 43 points in the poll with three first place votes.

Messiah was voted as the conference favorite, receiving 45 points and five first place votes.

Coming in right behind the Pride at third was York with 34 points while Albright and Alvernia were tied for fourth with both receiving 30 points.

Rounding out the rankings is Stevenson in sixth with 18 points, Hood in seventh with 14 points, and Eastern in eight with 10 points.

Last season the Pride went 18-9 (10-4 MAC Commonwealth).

Widener begins the 2025-26 season on Friday, November 7^th at the Gwynedd Mercy tournament located in Gwynedd Valley, Pa. The Pride will go up against Ursinus on Friday and then face either Gwynedd Mercy or St. Mary's College the following day.
