CHESTER, Pa. - Widener Athletics highlights Division I official Natasha Camy the third week of Women's History Month.
A 2010 Widener communications graduate, Camy was a part of one of the first all-black officiating crew at the Missouri Valley Conference final. Camy overcame the odds to achieve her status, as only 16.7% of all basketball referees are women, only 8% are referees that are African American, and only 5% are LGBTQ+.
Camy has coached in a plethora of big games in her nearly 12-year officiating career. In 2025, she has played a crucial part in officiating the Big Ten tournament, SEC tournament, and the Big 12 Conference Championship Tournaments. She was then part of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship referee crew on March 16th of this year.
The West Philadelphia native has done much more than just coaching, building up an outstanding resume in her time after graduation. Camy is the founder of Referee Ready Academy and Co-Founder of the Maikai company. She has also been a board member of The Gathering Spot and a Business Banking Specialist at Wells Fargo. For her successes, Camy was named to the Forbes List in 2024.
