Men's Lacrosse Rolls to 20-6 Victory at King's; Will Host MAC First-Round Game on Monday

Widener took control in the second quarter and never looked back, cruising to a 20-6 Middle Atlantic Conference victory at King's in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
 
Widener clinched the third seed for the MAC Tournament and on Monday will host sixth-seeded Eastern in the first round, beginning at 7:00 pm at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium. Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for students and free for children under age 6. Widener students are admitted free with a valid student ID.
 
The winner advances to the semifinals Wednesday against No. 2 seed Lycoming.
 
The Pride are 15-2 in the MAC Tournament and have won 11 titles, including four straight.
 
Widener (8-8, 7-3 MAC) outscored King's 13-2 over the second and third quarters for an insurmountable 16-4 lead, holding a 34-8 shots edge in that span.
 
Freshman Johnny Casey (Glenside, PA) scored five goals with sophomores Andrew Janusz (Easton, PA) and Shawn DeHaven (Lyndell, PA) netting three apiece for Widener, which notched a 62-17 shots edge.
 
Sophomore Kevin Carney (Ridley, PA) only needed three saves.
