PHILADELPHIA & BETHLEHEM, Pa. – One final weekend of competition prior to MAC Championships shows personal bests at the John & Carol Covert Classic and McGraw and Grossman at Penn Relays.
HOW IT HAPPENED AT PENN RELAYS
Jacob Grossman competed in the long jump on Friday, April 24. Grossman's showed a 6.58-meter mark on his final attempt in the college men's section. The senior's other two attempts tallied to a 6.40-meter and 6.45-meter distance.
Saturday's college triple jump championship presented by Core Power showed
Matayo McGraw on the runway. McGraw marked a 14.83-meter mark on his first attempt.
HOW IT HAPPENED AT THE JOHN & CAROL COVERT CLASSIC
David Abbey took fifth in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:15.01.
Isaiah Brewer joined with an 11:14.03.
Ashton Ray and
Michael Carolan showed a 4:16.01 and a 4:18.57 in the 1500-meter.
Xavier Nesbeth marked a personal best in the 400-meter after taking second in a 50.29.
Mikeal Palmieri showed a 52.09 while
Derek Rudd clocked a 53.02.
In the 100-meter,
Patrick Lamb saw a personal best 11.50 while
Kemahni Wimberly (12.12) and
Edward Abel (13.00) each saw competition.
Auden Fitz led the Pride in the 800-meter with a 2:09.08.
James Plunkett finished right after with a 2:10.19.
The 400-meter hurdles showed a third place finish for
Tristen Silverstein. Silverstein clocked a 1:01.31.
In the hammer throw,
Jackson Brink marked a 36.20-meter throw while
Ashton Brown threw a 35.96-meter distance.
Aiden Wilson led the pole vault crew with a 4.15-meter mark.
Brennan Pringle cleared 4.00-meters.
