CHESTER, Pa. – In celebration of Black History Month, Widener Athletics proudly recognizes former women's basketball standout Brianna Wylie, whose leadership and all-around performance helped shape the Pride program during her four-year career.
A 2016 graduate, Wylie emerged as one of Widener's most reliable and dominant players. As a senior captain in 2015-16, she started all 25 games and earned All-MAC Conference Commonwealth Second Team honors while also being named to the MAC Academic Honor Roll. She averaged a team-best 14.4 points and 9.1 rebounds per game, ranking fourth in the conference in scoring and rebounding while leading the league with a .573 field goal percentage.
Wylie's senior season featured 11 double-doubles, including a career-high 29 points against Penn State-Brandywine and multiple 20-plus point performances throughout conference play. Her efficiency and physical presence made her a constant matchup challenge and a cornerstone of the Pride lineup.
Over her four-year career, Wylie appeared in 96 games with 51 starts, finishing with 891 points and 612 rebounds while shooting an impressive 53.6 percent from the field. She recorded multiple double-doubles across her junior and senior campaigns and consistently ranked among the team leaders in scoring, rebounding, and blocks.
Beyond her on-court contributions, Wylie served as her team's representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), demonstrating her commitment to leadership and service within the Widener community.
As Widener Athletics continues its Black History Month celebration, Brianna Wylie's legacy stands as a testament to determination, leadership, and sustained excellence, both in competition and in the classroom.
