NEWTOWN, Pa. – For the upcoming 2025 season, Widener Women's Soccer was placed fourth on the MAC Commonwealth Preseason Coaches' poll, as announced by the conference office on Monday (Aug. 18).
In the poll, Widener earned 30 points to sit comfortably in-between Eastern (34 points) and the tied Hood and Stevenson (24 points). Messiah took the top rank with 49 points and seven first place votes while York took second with 43 points.
Last season the Pride held a 6-11 (2-5 MAC Commonwealth) record, which fell out of conference playoff contentions.
The 2025 season is set to commence in a week and a half on August 29 and 31 on Hirschmann Field at Quick Stadium against Washington College and Transylvania. The last time the Pride met Washington College it ended in 2-2 tie in double overtime on September 10, 2016. The Pride have never faced Transylvania.
