CHESTER, Pa. – Widener Men's Lacrosse Head Coach
Robb Chambers announces 2025 campaign to commence in mid-February.
"We are excited to kick off the 2025 season," said Chambers. "We have a hungry and talented group who had a very productive fall semester. Our student-athletes and coaches are excited for the opportunity to compete and represent Widener."
Heading into the 2025 season, men's lacrosse will begin with a pre-season ranking of fifth with Stevenson and York leading the way with 46 total points and four first place votes. Just under the Pride is Hood with 22 points to Widener's 32.
Following a hard 4-12 season in 2024, the Pride look to faceoff their season with a non-conference win against top Centennial powerhouse Swarthmore on Feb. 15. Men's Lacrosse continues their home campaign with a visit from Shenandoah on Feb. 22.
The cold continues with a trip up to Ithaca, N.Y. to visit a new opponent Ithaca in early March. The Pride will welcome the Commonwealth Coast Conference championship team Western New England to Hirschmann Field right before Spring Break commences. A trip to the other side of the conference for the final game in April will show the DeSales Bulldogs who made an appearance in the MAC Freedom championship game last season.
"We feel the MAC Commonwealth is one of the toughest conferences in the country and our players are ready for the challenge that lies ahead this Spring" chambers continued. April begins a long stretch of conference play with the first game set for April 5 against Alvernia. The Pride will welcome Messiah on April 16 and look to answer last year's results with a win. An April 19 game will send the Blue and Gold on the road to York, the MAC Commonwealth semifinalist. The next week will show a trip to St. Davids, Pa. to visit the Eastern Eagles who advanced to the championship game last season. Senior day is set for April 26 against Stevenson in the final game of the 2025 campaign.
