MAHWAH, N.J. – The final dual meet for Widener Men's Swimming ends with an undefeated season as
Sean Lehan takes the 1000-yard freestyle school record.
The Pride would down the Roadrunners 178-83 to go 10-0 in the regular season and end 6-0 in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The quad of
Patrick Rauch,
Dan Jackson,
Matthew Niro, and Kyle Cantrel opened with a 1:40.42 win in the 200-yard medley relay.
In the 1000-yard freestyle, first year
Sean Lehan would down the Widener record set last year with a 9:52.12 to win by 15 seconds.
Jackson captured a first in the 200-yard freestyle with a 1:48.09 to win by a close touchout.
Niro led a 1-2-3 finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a 56.43.
Patrick Rankin swam a 59.00 and
Shane Douthit touched in a 59.29.
The 100-yard breaststroke would be a close finish for first as
Michael Machristie touched with a 1:02.39.
Alex Chan led a 1-2 finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a 22:02 with Cantrell who touched in a 22.86.
Jackson took his second win in the 100-yard freestyle with a 49.10 to win by 0.46 seconds.
The Patricks took a 1-2 finish in the 200-yard backstroke as Rauch led Rankin with a 2:02.06. Rankin would come in just behind in a 2:06.97.
Jason Mongiovi's 200-yard breaststroke would be good enough for first with a 2:16.84. Machristie touched in second for a final time of 2:19.13.
Lehan picked up his second win in the 500-yard freestyle with a 4:48.45 while averaging 29 seconds per 50-yards.
Cahn saw a 53.49 in the 100-yard butterfly which would be first overall. Niro would take third with a 54.86.
Jackson's final win came in the 200-yard individual medley as he won by four seconds with a 2:01.89.
Seth Phillips touched second with a 2:05.77 and Rauch third with a 2:09.51.
The Pride closed out their undefeated season with a 1:30.34 in the 200-yard freestyle relay as Douthit,
Joshua Cunningham, Cantrell, and Chan touched first.

Widener heads to the 2025 MAC Championships slated for Feb. 13-16 at the Graham Aquatic Center in York, Pa. Preliminaries will begin around 9 a.m. and finals will commence around 6 p.m.
