YORK, Pa. – Widener Men's swimming falls to York in the final dual meet of the season.
The 109-67 loss moves the Pride to 6-5 in the regular season and 5-2 in conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pride opened the meet with a second in the 400-yard medley relay. The quad of
Matthew Niro,
Michael Machristie,
Adam Bailey, and
Zach Delgado would touch in a 3:47.18.
The 1000-yard free was led by distance specialist
Sean Lehan where he clocked a 10:05.71 to win by over 20 seconds.
Machristie's 100-yard breaststroke showed a second place and a 1:03.77.
Seth Phillips would sneak into third with a 1:05.95.
Benjamin Holub would touch third in the 200-yard butterfly. Holub would finish with a final of 2:25.27.
Delgado sprinted to a quick 22.88 in the 50-yard free.
A 2-3 finish in the 200-yard breaststroke came from Machristie and
Marcus Moreef. Machristie touched first of the two with a 2:21.78 while Moreef clocked a 2:46.32.
Lehan again led in the distance events with a 4:58.47 in the 500-yard free.
Niro split the Spartans in the 100-yard butterfly with a 54.77. Delgado would find a fourth with a 57.59.
The final individual event showed a second from Phillips in the 200-yard individual medley. Phillips stopped the clock with a 2:11.86.
Collin Ergood, Niro, Delgado, and
Bryce Garber would end the meet with a third in the 200-yard free relay. The quad wrapped the meet up with a 1:35.09.

Widener returns to the pool on February 11 for the four day MAC Championships set at the Graham Aquatic Center. Preliminaries in York, Pa. are set for 9:30 a.m. while finals are scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
