Swimming Places Eight on CSC Academic All-District Teams

GREENWOOD, In. – Widener Swimming earns eight combined spots on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District for the 2025-26 season for their excellence in the pool and in the classroom.
 
The CSC Academic All-District program recognizes outstanding student-athletes who maintain at least a 3.50 GPA while competing at a high level in their respective sports. With more than 33,000 nominations submitted annually, the honor places student-athletes among the nation's elite academically and athletically. The program, established in 1952, serves as the first step toward Academic All-America® consideration.
 
Representing Widener this year are Caroline Anderson, Emily Thompson, Olivia Giambalvo, and Taylor Sholl for the women and Adam Bailey, Michael Machristie, Sean Lehan, and Zach Delgado for the men.
 
Anderson would compete in all meets this season and qualify for two conference championship finals. Anderson placed ninth in the 200-yard backstroke and 11th in the 100-yard backstroke.
 
Thompson's swimming earned her three individual finals at MAC Championships with a 16th place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, a 13th place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, and a 15th place finish in the 100-yard butterfly.
 
Giambalvo picked up four individual event wins this season and saw two conference championship final events. Giambalvo would place ninth in the 200-yard free and seventh in the 500-yard free.
 
Sholl would compete in all meets this season for the Pride as a junior and compete in three events at MAC Championships.
 
Bailey competed in all meets this season and accumulated five individual event wins while also qualifying for three finals at conference championships.
 
Machristie swam in all meets this season and qualified for two finals events at conference championships where he placed 12th in the 100-yard breaststroke and eighth in the 200-yard breaststroke.
 
Lehan's distance swimming would earn him 13 individual event wins during the season and three All-Conference selections. At conference championships, Lehan would win the 500-yard free and place second in the 1650-yard free and 200-yard free.
 
Delgado picked up an individual event win against FDU-Florham and would qualify for three finals events at conference championships.
