Men's Lacrosse Makes it Four Straight Wins With 21-2 Triumph Over Manhattanville

Widener blitzed Manhattanville for nine goals in the first quarter and was on its way to a 21-2 Middle Atlantic Conference victory at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium for its fourth consecutive win.
 
One game after outscoring Misericordia 10-0 in the second quarter on Sunday, the Pride blanked the Valiants in the opening period to remain one of three unbeaten teams in the league. Josh Fox (Wynnewood, PA), the reigning MAC Player of the Week, as well as fellow sophomore Johnny Casey (Glenside, PA) and junior Mark Kane (Morton, PA) all scored twice in the period.
 
The Pride (6-2, 4-0 MAC) ended with a 16-5 shots edge in the quarter with 11 on goal and closed with an astounding 69-12 advantage.
 
Junior Whitney Bruemmer (Southampton, PA) scored four goals with Casey adding three and four assists for Widener, which shares the same loss total in the conference with Eastern and Messiah. Junior Ryan Shewell (Ellicott City, MD), sophomore Ryan Eidenshink (Elkins Park, PA) and senior Shawn DeHaven (Lyndell, PA) all scored twice and freshman Craig Hunsberger (Perkasie, PA) won 17-of-25 face-offs.
 
Brian D'Iorio and Billy Motherway scored and Dom Poletto made 18 saves for the Valiants (2-7, 0-5).
 
Widener on Saturday visits Elizabethtown for a 7:00 pm start in Hershey, PA.
