Junior Hamed Correa (Cali, Colombia) stood on his head with a career-best 11 saves and freshman defender Chris Clifton (Philadelphia, PA) scored for Widener, which pulled off a huge 1-0 upset of top-seeded Lebanon Valley in the Commonwealth Conference semifinals.
By notching its first conference-tournament victory in school history, fourth-seeded Widener (9-7-3) is off to Saturday's championship game. It will visit either ninth-ranked Messiah or third-seeded Lycoming at a time to be announced.
Correa saved the day by making seven stops in the second half. He had four in the last 20 minutes that included a diving save off a shot from Morgan Crouse with less than two minutes left. Correa improved to 7-5 on the season.
Widener, making its third conference tournament appearance in five years, got the break it needed in the 51st minute. Freshman Dan Lorenzet (Forest Hill, MD) served a corner kick to Clifton, who nudged it past goalkeeper Tim Mehl for his first collegiate goal.
The Pride made it stand despite a 19-6 shots disadvantage that included 10-5 after intermission. Senior Doug Gabel (Feasterville, PA) had three shots.
Chris Hall took four shots and Mehl had two saves for the Dutchmen (9-10).
