CHESTER, Pa. - Head Volleyball Coach Andrew Lee announced the men's volleyball schedule for the 2026 season. The improving Pride team is looking to take another jump after a 16-12 season in 2025 where they went 3-5 in conference play.
"I'm truly excited for this upcoming season," Lee said.
The season kicks off on January 14 with a match against Cairn in Langhorne, PA. The Pride will host their first home game the following day, taking on NJCU. From January 24 to 25, Widener will participate in a two-day tournament at Juniata, competing against Juniata, Hobart, and SUNY New Paltz. The team will return home on January 29 to face Wilkes, and will conclude the month with a tri-match on January 31, where they will battle against Elizabethtown and Lancaster Bible in Lancaster, PA.
February promises to be an eventful month for the Pride, as they compete in nine games during this period. They will kick off the month facing off against non-conference opponents such as Carthage, Vassar, Valley Forge, and Rutgers Newark. The month will conclude with four home games against Neumann, Nazareth, Drew, and Elizabethtown.
The Pride conclude their season primarily against conference rivals, but they will also encounter some less familiar teams like Ramapo and John Jay. Widener faces a challenging two-game series against Arcadia and Stevens, one of which was nationally ranked #6 last season. The regular season wraps up with a home match against Misericordia on April 1st, ahead of the start of the conference playoffs.
Coach Lee analyzes the team's aspirations in response to the demanding schedule they are up against.
"We've built a schedule that will push us against some of the best programs out there. With a young roster, every match will be a chance to grow, compete, and establish the foundation for where we're headed as a program."
