NEWTOWN, Pa. – Widener Men's Basketball was selected sixth in the MAC Commonwealth Coaches' Preseason Poll, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday (Oct. 22).
 
Widener received 22 points in the poll.
 
Alvernia took the top of the conference rankings with 42 points and three first place votes while Hood took second with 41 points and two first place votes.
 
Just above the Pride was Eastern with 26 points and tied for seventh below the Pride was Stevenson and Messiah with 10.
 
Last season the Pride went 7-18 (5-9 MAC Commonwealth).
 
The Pride begin their new campaign on Friday, November 14 with the annual Tip-Off for Autism Awareness Tournament in the Schwartz Athletic Center. Friday's matchup begins PSU-Abington at 8 p.m. and Arcadia at 4 p.m. the following day.
