HOW IT HAPPENED
  • An early trip to the charity stripe for Mazur would put the Pride on the board. Daulerio put in a layup to allow Mazur to poke a steal and hit a triple to take a two point lead early. Back-to-back triples from Schenk and Hamilton sent the Schwartz Center rocking. A Mazur triple at 13:05 helped lead to a Hamilton dunk to take a five point lead. Myles Bright saw a triple under the halfway mark to push the lead to 26-18. Sean Mizzoni saw points with a steal and a fastbreak layup with 4:48 remaining. The Pride would hold a 32-21 lead. An offensive stretch for the Lions would bring the game to 32-30 at half in favor of the Blue and Gold.
  • Out of half, Daulerio put in a layup off a Mazur steal to open the gates.  A Pride and Lions would go shot for shot for the majority of the first eight minutes. Hamilton ended a Lions short run and cut the deficit to three with a layup at 11:58. Bright saw a trip to the stripe and would hit one before a team turnover on a 10 second call. Schenk capitalized with a layup to start a 7-0 run with six remaining. Mazur would hit a triple to erupt the gym in the Pride's favor with 2:15 left. A Hamilton jumper helped keep the game within one score. Mazur would end his career with a pair of free throws on a 1-and-1 attempt as the Pride fell 68-64.
