CHESTER, Pa. – After defeating Hood 73-62 on Wednesday, Widener men's basketball has one more game left in the MAC Commonwealth playoffs. They will take on the #1 seed Alvernia University Golden Wolves on Saturday to determine the winner of the conference.
The Pride were 17-8 in the regular season (11-5 in the MAC).
Alvernia finished their regular season with an 18-7 record, while seeing a 12-4 conference record. The Golden Wolves are coming off a 75-70 semifinal home win versus Eastern.
The Pride and the Golden Wolves saw each other twice this year, but the road team was victorious in each game. They battled first on Nov. 30, where Widener overcame Alvernia in a 78-76 overtime win. Alvernia took the other win on Jan. 25 at Widener, 88-80.
Graduate student
Dominic Dunn recorded a season-high five steals in Widener's loss to Alvernia. In their Nov. 30 win, he recorded a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Pat Holden converted 6-12 (50%) on threes. He's averaged 18.5 points in those matchups.
Widener comes into this matchup with six wins in their last seven (playoffs included). Alvernia enters with four victories in their last five.
The winner of this game will not only win the MAC Commonwealth, but they will also earn the conference's NCAA Division III Championship automatic qualifier.
