CHESTER, Pa. – Widener men's basketball honor four on senior day against Alvernia.
The 78-75 loss moves the Pride to 7-16 in the regular season and 4-8 in conference play.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Myles Bright would lead with 23 points and seven rebounds.
- Jacob Ayree held 18 while Kori Segich put in 16.
- Off the bench Ethan Dodson score six with two steals.
- The Pride 38.9% from the floor, 34.3% from three, and scored 28 points in the paint.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Pride would score with a TJ Bryson triple at 17:37 to answer the Golden Wolves four. Aryee lit up the net with a dunk to give Byrson another triple. Bright hit a jumper in the paint to take a 12-4 lead. Aryee sunk a triple with 13:35 before the Golden Wolves went on a run to take an 18-15 lead. Segich put in a layup at 8:22 while Bright and Aryee sunk four triples to tie the game at 30. Dodson put in two from the stripe while Bright hit a buzzer beater triple to send the Pride into half up 39-36.
- To start the second Segich would hit a tripe to tie the game at 42. Aryee would score seconds later. With 15:17 left, Aryee would put in a jumper. The gym would erupt with a Dodson steal and dunk. Dylan Schlatter would put in a layup to cut the score to 54-52. Bright would take the lead with a triple at 10:48. A back-and-forth would show with Bright showing a triple with 8:27 left. Jayden Lawrence hit a triple before a Pride run. Aryee would poke the ball lose to give Segich a fastbreak layup while Lawrence did the same with Segich. Bright and Segich put in two from the stripe. The final five minute would show the Pride scoreless while the Golden Wolves won 75-70.
