ANNVILLE, Pa. - Anna Cooney of the Widener University women's track & field team has been named the Middle Atlantic Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday. It is the third time this season she is receiving the honor.
 
Cooney won the hammer throw and shot put at Widener's MAC Only Meet No. 3 on Sunday. Her throw of 52.46 meters in the hammer leads the MAC and ranks fifth in all of NCAA Division III. In the shot put, she took first with a distance of 12.57 meters. She also picked up second place in the discus throw, logging a distance of 33.56.
 
Widener returns to action on Saturday, April 24 when it hosts its fourth and final MAC Only Meet.
