RISING SUN, Md. – The Widener University men's golf team opened the spring portion of its schedule during the weekend at the Revolutionary Golf Classic hosted by Ursinus. The Pride finished fourth out of six teams.
All five golfers scored better for the Pride in the second round than the first, led by
Ben Newlon who carded a 77 on the second day, the low round this year for the Blue and Gold. His total of 167 (+25) for the two days placed him eighth out of 34 competitors.
Boyd McCoy was the next finisher for Widener, going 88-85-173, placing 14th.
T.J. May shot 90-89-179 with
Tom Neher posting 96-84-180.
Mike Persia went 93-89-182 in his two rounds.
The Pride is in action next on Monday, April 1 when it travels to Upperco, Md. for the Stevenson Invitational.
