BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Widener University women's indoor track & field team competed in the first day of the MAC Championships hosted by Lehigh University on Friday evening.
Allison Reuter won the weight throw finals by nearly a meter with a throw of 16.39 meters – a new school and MAC Championships record.
There were four top-five finishes for the Pride and two gold medal winners. WU ended the day at third place on the leaderboard with 37 points.
The 4000-meter DMR team of
Maia Semmes,
Rachel Parr,
Sarah Groetz, and
Sarah Cardone finished third in the event with a time of 12:56.15.
The 4x200-meter relay team consisting of
Aishah Dukes,
Ale Borbolla-Diaz,
Claire Burkert, and
Alaina Johnson took home the gold in a field of 10 teams. They completed the race in 1:47.57.
Hailey Welchans was third in the pole vault finals with a height of 3.15 meters.
