SWARTHMORE, Pa. (Jan. 15, 2017) – Senior
Ian Gaynor (Donegal, Ireland) factored into three event victories as the Widener men's swimming team fell to Swarthmore 179-83 on Sunday afternoon.
Gaynor notched a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.92 seconds and then added a victory in the 100 free with a recorded time of 46.44. He later came back and led the winning 200 free relay team which clocked in at 1:27.59. The relay also consisted of seniors Jeff Hicks (White Haven, Pa.), Jeremy Lahn (Philadelphia, Pa.), and Mike Grajek (Freehold, N.J.).
Other notable performances were made by sophomore
Aaron Green (Camden-Wyoming, Del.). He placed second in both the 100 back and 100 breast with recorded times of 56.69 and 53.34.
Widener (10-1) will be back in the pool on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 1 p.m. when it heads to Glenside, Pa. to take on Arcadia.
