SCRANTON, Pa. – Widener Men's Swimming falls to Scranton in a road meet to begin the season.
The 209-53 loss puts the Pride a 0-1 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pride opened with a 1:43.71 in the 200-yard medley relay with
Bryce Garber,
Michael Machristie,
Adam Bailey, and
Naveen Boggi.
Sean Lehan took third in the 1000-yard free with a 10:29.98 to average 32-seconds per 50.
In the 50-yard backstroke,
Matthew Niro would take second with a 25.50 alongside Garber who clocked a 27.70.
Machristie marked a 29.53 in the 50-yard breaststroke to take fourth.
Bailey and
Zach Delgado took a 2-3 finish in the 100-yard butterfly. Bailey took second with a 57.24 and Delgado swam in a 58.07.
Boggi's 50-yard free would show a 23.22.
The 100-yard backstroke showed Niro with a 57.10.
Lehan's afternoon continued with a third overall in the 500-yard free as he clocked a 5:10.47.
Niro wrapped up his individual day with a second in the 50-yard butterfly with a 24.29.
Boggi, Delgado, Colin Ergood, and Lehan concluded the meet with a 3:31.05 400-yard free relay.

Widener returns to the pool on Saturday, October 25 with a quad meet against King's, Messiah, and Hood. The meet in Frederick, Md. is scheduled for 1 p.m.
