FREDERICK, Md. – Widener Men's Swimming's trip to Maryland results in three wins on Saturday afternoon.
The Pride took the meets with a 177-59 win over Hood, a 162-93 win over King's, and a 151-108 win over Messiah. Widener moves to 3-1 after the weekend.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pride opened with a big win in the 200-yard medley relay as
Bryce Garber,
Michael Machristie,
Adam Bailey, and
Naveen Boggi took first with a 1:43.12.
First year Colin Ergood took second in the 1000-yard free with a time of 11:05.21.
A 1-2 finish in the 200-yard free was led by
Sean Lehan with a 1:49.71 while
Seth Phillips followed up with a 1:56.20.
Garber and Boggi followed up their swims with a 2-3 in the 100-yard backstroke. Garber clocked a 1:00.12 while Boggi finished with a 1:01.06.
Machristie's 100-yard breast would be a first place finish with a 1:03.04.
Bailey went on to take first in the 200-yard butterfly in dominating fashion with a 2:11.08.
Ergood picked up a second in the 100-yard free with a 52.74.
Phillips ripped a 2:13.58 in the 200-yard backstroke.
Machristie and Bailey took first and second in the 200-yard breaststroke. Machristie touched with a 2:18.37 while Bailey hit in a 2:29.61.
The distance dominance continued by Lehan as he won in a 4:57.98 for the 500-yard free.
The Pride would finish the meet with a second in the 200-yard free relay as Boggi, Garber, Ergood, and
Marcus Moreef clocked a 1:33.55.
