Men's Indoor Track & Field Completes Day at Seamus McElligot Invitational

HAVERFORD, Pa. (Jan. 30, 2016) – The Widener men's indoor track & field team competed at the Seamus McElligot Invitational on Saturday held on the campus of Haverford College.
 
Leonard Harmon (Charlton, Mass.) was the top finisher in the 800-meter race.  The senior recorded a time of 1:54.62 for the victory. Honorio Freeland (Ridley, Pa.) added a time of 2:02.37, while Edwin Noyes clocked in at 2:07.20 in the event.
 
Ameer Sorrell (Port Norris, N.J.) earned a third place finish in the 60-meter dash. The senior recorded a personal best time of 7.19 seconds. He knocked down his personal best time by one-hundredth of a second. Junior Josh Colley (Tunkhannock, Pa.) earned an eighth place finish in the event with a time of 7.49 seconds.
 
In the mile race, freshman Ryan Rastatter (Havertown, Pa.) notched a 16th place finish. He recorded a time of 4:38.13 in the event. Junior Zach Hill (North Plainfield, N.J.) ended the event in 25th place, while Michael Ambrulavage (Mountain Top, Pa.) recorded a 26th place finish. Hill finished with a time of 4:45.88, while his classmate crossed in 4:46.70.
 
Hill clocked in at the finish of the 800-meter race with a time of 2:09.82.
 
Freshman Malik Wilson (Baltimore, Md.) earned a tenth place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.20. Daniel Miller (Pennsburg, Pa.) also notched a 14th place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.06.
 
In the field events, Colley earned a first place finish in the long jump event. He recorded a best mark of 6.88 meters (22'-7"), while Sorrell finished in third place with a jump of 6.48 meters (21'-3.25").

Sorrell earned a first place finish in the triple jump, while Colley was not far behind in second place. The senior notched a best mark of 14.29 meters (46'-10.75"), while Colley recorded a jump of 14.27 meters (46'-10"). The marks by Colley and Sorrell in both events qualified them for the Middle Atlantic Confernce Championships.
 
The Pride will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Collegeville, Pa. to compete in the Frank Colden Invitational.
