Women's Swimming Falls to Scranton In Non-Conference Dual Meet at Home

CHESTER, Pa. (October 23, 2015) – The Widener women's swimming team fell to Scranton in a non-conference dual at the Schwartz Athletic Center on Saturday, 160-102.

Sophomore Christine Kunzler (Livermore, Calif.) earned a victory in the 100-yard freestyle. She recorded a time of 54.94.

Kori Meighan (Holmes, Pa.) helped the Blue and Gold to a second place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The relay, comprised of Meighan, Kunzler, and freshman Lauren Griffiith (Doestown, Pa.) and Jaclyn Hammill (East Greenville, Pa.), recorded a time of 1:56.90.

Kunzler added a second place finish in the 50-yard freeestyle with a time of 25.20.

Later in the day, Kunzler and Griffith teamed up with Melaney Heald (Georgetown, Del.) and Kaylin Augustine (Wyoming, Pa.) for a second place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The group notched a time of 3:46.22.

The Pride will be back in action next Saturday as they travel to take on Albright in a Middle Atlantic Conference meet at 1:00 p.m. in Reading, Pa.
