YORK, Pa. – Widener Women's Swimming's trip to York shows the Pride falling in a final dual meet.
The 169-90 loss moves the Pride to 4-8 in the regular season and 3-4 in conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED
To open the short meet,
Caroline Anderson,
Hailey Webster,
Kaitlyn Fahy, and
Megan Shallow took second in the 400-yard medley relay. The four would show a 4:24.52.
Shallow and
Olivia Giambalvo took a 2-3 finish in the 200-yard free. Shallow led with a 2:00.94 while Giambalvo clocked a 2:02.95.
Anderson took second in the 100-yard backstroke with a 1:05.40.
In the 100-yard breaststroke,
Emily Thompson would swim to a 1:14.82.
Taylor Sholl took fourth with a 1:22.17.
Caileigh Foveaux would take third in the 200-yard butterfly as she clocked a 2:40.31.
Webster led a 2-3-4 finish in the 50-yard free. Webster would touch in a 26.33,
Tyla Block showed a 27.42, and Anderson put up a 27.56.
The 100-yard free showed Shallow with a 56.15 and a 59.21 from Block.
Kylie Rodi snuck into first in the 200-yard backstroke with a 2:27.21 to win by 0.01.
Bella Fanelli led a 2-3 in the 200-yard breaststroke. Fanelli clocked a 2:43.47. Webster would come just behind in a 2:45.19.
A 5:28.60 from Giambalvo was fast enough for a second in the 500-yard free to split the Spartans.
Thompson's final individual event would be a third in the 100-yard butterfly. Thompson clocked a 1:09.00.
The final individual event showed Block and Foveaux taking a 2-3 finish in the 200-yard individual medley. Block clocked a 2:26.26 while Foveaux showed a 2:32.48.
Giambalvo, Webster, Anderson, and Shallow wrapped the meet up with a 1:44.08 and first in the 200-yard free relay.

Widener returns to the pool on February 11 for the four day MAC Championships set at the Graham Aquatic Center. Preliminaries in York, Pa. are set for 9:30 a.m. while finals are scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
