Senior Jen Egee (Ridley Park, PA) hit one of basketball's most important milestones, getting her 1,000th career point in Widener's 61-55 setback to Mary Washington in San Juan, PR.

Egee reached the mark in the second half, ironically becoming the 11th player in school history to reach this that matches the number 11 on her jersey. She finished today with 19 points, her lowest output over the last five games after scoring at least 27 points each of the previous four contests.

The reigning Commonwealth Conference and ECAC South Player of the Week now stands at 1,005 career points and this season paces the league with 21.4 points per game. She becomes the third player for Widener to reach 1,000 points over a two-season stretch, a first in school history, to join Lil Carney and All-American Kate Dellinger.

Egee also had one 3-pointer to give her 190 career, moving her into sole possession of ninth place in Middle Atlantic Conference history, and seven rebounds.

Widener (6-4) held a 31-30 halftime lead despite being held off the scoreboard for four minutes, but it was Mary Washington (6-2) which found a way for its fourth victory the last in five outings.

Junior Kristina Reiter (Sewell, NJ) had 17 points, eight rebounds and three 3-pointers with sophomore Nikki Sutliff (Sweet Valley, PA) adding 10 points for the Pride. Sophomore Brianna Wylie (Mount Laurel, NJ) notched five points and six rebounds with junior Courtney Colella (Cinnaminson, NJ) grabbing eight rebounds.

Sam Partonen scored 16 points, Aby Diop netted 13 and Brianne Comden added 10 for the Eagles.

The contest ended Widener's two-game voyage at Universidad del Sagrado Corazon, which featured plenty of sightseeing, fun and a 68-65 victory Wednesday over Albion.

Widener does not play again until January 4, when it visits Stevenson for a 1:00 pm start.
