Track & Field Takes Part in Keogh Invitational

Widener again posted a number of strong showings, competing at the Keogh Invitational in Haverford, PA.
 
Senior Robert Innocent (Fairfax, VA) won the 55-meter dash in 6.61 seconds and was second in the 200-meter dash in 23.09 seconds. Michael Garrity (Briarcliffe, PA) ended third in the 800-meter dash in 1:58.23 and fellow junior Sean McCarthy (Ellicott City, MD) closed fourth in the 200-meter dash in 23.69 seconds.
 
The men's 4x200 meter relay team ended second in 1:32.64 and was comprised of Innocent, freshman William Betts (Wayne, PA), junior Emmanuel Rupert (Baltimore, MD) and freshman Tyler Schmalhofer (Elizabethtown, PA).

The men's 4x400 relay squad was third in 3:34.62 and included Betts, Schmalhofer, Garrity and junior Sean McCarthy (Ellicott City, MD).
 
Sophomore Darcela Llanos (Abington, PA) finished second in the 400-meter dash in 1:02.44
 
Widener next Friday partakes in the Lafayette/Rider Winter Games at the famed New York Armory.
