Track and Field Excels at Widener Field Meet

Widener had four first place finishes during the Widener Field Meet at Schwartz Center.
 
Anthony Clayton (Cinnaminson, NJ) took the 55-meter hurdles in 8.84 seconds, fellow freshman Mick Coleman (Southampton, PA) won the pole vault by covering 4.40 meters and senior Jacob Munick (Narberth, PA) captured the weight throw at 15.85 meters.
 
Senior Kevin Franklin (Baltimore, MD) closed second in the 55-meter dash in 6.84 seconds and freshman Dennis Nguyen (Springfield, PA) was tied for third in the pole vault at 4.10 meters.
 
Junior Brooke McDonald (Drexel Hill, PA) continued her strong campaign by winning the pole vault at 3.35 meters. Sophomore Rebecca Sewell (Hackettstown, NJ) was second in the shot put at 10.94 meters, freshman Victoria Batter (Woodlyn, PA) was second in the 55-meter hurdles in 10.94 seconds and senior Valisha Andrus (Pemberton, NJ) closed third in the 55-meter dash in 7.70 seconds.
 
Widener on Saturday takes part in the Keogh Invitational, beginning at 11:00 am in Haverford, PA.
