Track & Field Posts Five Victories at Haverford Quad-Meet

Widener recorded five victories in yet another great showing as it took part in the Haverford Quad-Meet.
 
Junior Cedrick Clayton (Cinnaminson, NJ) won the triple jump at 11.77 meters and was second in the long jump at 6.38 meters. His brother, freshman Anthony Clayton (Cinnaminson, NJ), won the high jump at 1.75 meters and took second in the 55-meter dash in 8.78 seconds.
 
Junior Sean McCarthy (Ellicott City, MD) grabbed the 400-meter dash in 53.25 seconds and was second in the 200-meter dash in 23.76 seconds. Junior Emmanuel Rupert (Baltimore, MD) won the 55-meter dash in 6.81 seconds and closed third in the 200-meter dash in 23.86 seconds.
 
Sophomore Ben Petrak (Chadds Ford, PA) was second in the 55-meter dash in 6.95 seconds, freshman William Betts (Wayne, PA) ended third in the 400-meter dash in 53.52 seconds, Nicholas Dolhancryk (East Lansdowne, PA) was third in the long jump at 6.15 meters and fellow sophomore Josh Jackson (Mount Holly, NJ) grabbed third in the shot put at 11.60 meters.
 
Freshman Victoria Batter (Woodlyn, PA) took the triple jump by covering 9.55 meters. Sophomore Madeleine Cattuna (Cherry Hill, NJ) was second in the 200-meter dash at 27.74 meters and third in the 55-meter dash in 7.73 seconds.
 
Widener's women's team will be in action this Saturday at the DuCharme Invitational in Carlisle, PA. The men return to the fold February 26 at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships in Bethlehem, PA.
