Men’s Basketball Starts Weekend With 95-82 Win Over Berkeley College

Widener traveled to Glassboro, NJ to take part in the Heritage's Dairy Farm Classic this weekend and came away with a 95-82 win in its first game against Berkeley College.
 
Jack Brennan (Stratford, NJ) led the offense for the Pride (6-2) with a career-high 26 points, including 20 in the second half. He shot 7-of-10 from the floor and 12-for-14 from the line to go with 11 rebounds and one blocked shot. Lamar Jackson (Philadelphia, PA) was next with 19 points, amassed by shooting 6-of-13 from the field, 2-of-6 from 3-point range and 5-for-6 from the foul line. Jackson also had two steals and led the team with seven assists.
 
Bob Makor (Philadelphia, PA) totaled 14 points by shooting 4-for-5 from the floor and 6-for-6 from the line. He also lent a hand on defense by grabbing three rebounds. Rob McPherson (Bowie, MD) went 3-for-4 from the floor and had three steals with Perry Wright (Severn, MD) adding four steals of his own. As a team, Widener shot 88 percent from the line, making 29-of-33.
 
For Berkeley College (1-7), Daniel Waynick led the squad with 19 points and nine rebounds. Devante Chang went 6-for-10 from the floor to go towards his 16 points, six rebounds and four assists.
 
Widener advances to the championship round on Saturday at approximately 3:00 pm against either Rowan or Penn State Brandywine.
