Indoor Track & Field Competes at NYC Gotham Cup

Widener opened the 2011 part of its schedule by taking part in the NYC Gotham Cup at the famed New York Armory.

Junior Brooke McDonald (Drexel Hill, PA) finished in a tie for first among Division III athletes and a tie for fifth overall in the pole vault, clearing 3.25 meters.

Mick Coleman (Southampton, PA) continued his strong freshman campaign, ending tied for first with the Division III athletes and tied for seventh overall. He posted a leap of 4.30 meters.

Senior Robert Innocent (Fairfax, VA) was 12th in the 60-meter dash, first among Division III athletes, in 7.13 seconds and junior Michael Garrity (Briarcliffe, PA) closed 18th in the 3,000-meter run in 8:47.

Widener next Friday competes at the Collegeville Classic on the campus of Ursinus College, beginning at 3:00 pm.
