Widener faced its second ranked opponent in as many weeks, this time falling in a 17-5 contest at No. 1 Salisbury.
The Sea Gulls (4-0) outscored the Pride 11-1 over the second and third quarters for a 15-3 lead. Matt Cannone netted all six of his game-high goals in that span.
Freshman Johnny Casey (Glenside, PA) scored three times for Widener (0-2) with sophomore Kevin Rider (Shamong, NJ) notching seven ground balls. Sophomore Kevin Carney (Ridley, PA) made 19 saves.
Kylor Berkman scored five goals with Mike Winter recording a hat trick for Salisbury.
Widener last Saturday fell in a hard-fought 7-6 contest at No. 5 Stevenson.
