Widener sophomore center Casey Pritz (Abington, PA), coming off a career night last week, was named Commonwealth Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Pritz had a monster night Thursday, scoring a career-best 26 points in Widener's 55-48 triumph over Swarthmore. She shot 12-of-19 from the floor over 27 minutes and bested her previous high of 24 points set against Albright on January 7, 2009.
She also finished with eight rebounds and four steals.
It has been another strong season for the reigning conference Rookie of the Year. This season, Pritz is 17th in the league with 10.1 points per game, seventh with 6.9 rebounds per contest, seventh with a .513 shooting percentage and first with 2.11 blocks per game.
Widener (6-3, 2-0 CC) returns to action Friday at Rowan, beginning at 6:00 pm in Glassboro, NJ.
