Junior Sam Baer (Lancaster, PA) broke her own school record with eight points and tied the team mark with three goals, helping Widener to an 8-0 triumph over Neumann at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium.

Baer scored in the 17th minute for the first goal of the game and also tallied a pair 77 seconds apart early in the second half for a 6-0 margin.

The eight points shatters her mark set September 26, 2007 against FDU-Florham.  It is the second time Baer has scored three goals in a match and it is the eighth time in school history it has happened.  She also did it September 2, 2007 against Bridgewater (VA).

Casey LeRoy (Washington Twp., NJ) had a goal and an assist and fellow junior Kim Sharpless (Millville, NJ) dished two assists for the Pride (1-1-1), who closed with a decided 29-2 shots edge.

Sophomores Emily Asher (Lansdale, PA), Amber Kiliti (Berwick, PA) and Traci Farrell (Clayton, NJ) all scored as did freshman Brittany Harvis (Delran, NJ).

Baer was named Widener's Player of the Match as part of "Breast Cancer Awareness Night," the Pride's initiative to help combat the disease and raise money to aid in the cause.  Maureen Muntz was the honoree for Neumann.

Widener on Friday begins a five-game road trip as it faces Delaware Valley at the first match of the F&M Tournament in Lancaster, PA.  Game time is 5:00 pm.
