Four Members from Men's and Women's Basketball Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, IN. - Four members of the Widener Women's and Men's Basketball teams have been recognized for their excellence both on the court and in the classroom, earning College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors for the 2025-26 season.

The CSC Academic All-District program recognizes outstanding student-athletes who maintain at least a 3.50 GPA while competing at a high level in their respective sports. With more than 33,000 nominations submitted annually, the honor places student-athletes among the nation's elite academically and athletically. The program, established in 1952, serves as the first step toward Academic All-America® consideration.

Representing Widener this year are seniors Avalynn Baer, Kimberly Casiello, and Myles Bright, along with sophomore Riley Stackhouse, each of whom played a vital role in the Pride's success throughout the season.

Baer, a senior, started all 27 games and was a consistent force in the lineup. She averaged 11 points and 6.2 rebounds per game while adding 1.4 steals and 0.7 assists. Defensively, she led the team with 0.6 blocks per contest. Baer posted a career-high 23 points against Alvernia on February 14 and grabbed a season-best 12 rebounds at Messiah on February 7. She also recorded four blocks in a game against Grove City. Her strong two-way play earned her All-MAC Commonwealth Second Team honors.

Casiello, also a senior, started all 27 games and served as a steady presence as a facilitator for the Pride. She averaged 3.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game while contributing 1.0 steals. She scored a season-high 11 points against Eastern on February 4 and dished out a season-best eight assists at Albright on February 11, where she also pulled down six rebounds. Casiello's leadership and sportsmanship were recognized with a selection to the MAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

Stackhouse, a sophomore, emerged as one of the team's top performers, starting all 27 games and averaging 12 points per contest. She added 3.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 2.4 steals per game, showcasing her all-around impact. Stackhouse recorded a season-high 26 points against Stevenson and grabbed 11 rebounds at Messiah on February 28. She also tallied six assists in a game against Grove City. Her standout season earned her All-MAC Commonwealth Second Team honors.

Bright, a senior, started all 25 games for the Pride and led the team in scoring with an average of 19.5 points per game. He added 4.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest while shooting 43.7 percent from the field and 73.7 percent from the free throw line.

He delivered one of the top performances of the season with a career-high 40-point outing against Ursinus on November 22. Bright also pulled down a season-high seven rebounds against Alvernia on February 14, showcasing his ability to impact the game in multiple facets.

For his efforts throughout the season, Bright was named to the All-MAC Commonwealth Second Team, further highlighting his standout campaign.
