Widener Baseball Releases 2026 Schedule

CHESTER, Pa. – Widener Baseball Coach Kevin Burdick has announced the Pride's 2026 schedule.

Last season, the Pride went 20-21 (12-9 MAC). They made the MAC Commonwealth tournament as the fourth seed where they would fall to the eventual Champion Messiah.

Coach Burdick emphasizes the experience this group has together.

"We are looking forward to another challenging schedule. Our group has been together for a long time now. We will rely on their experience and our strong culture to compete for another MAC championship" 

The Pride roster will have a lot of familiar faces returning for the 2026 season, including junior infielders Sean Burke and Kevin Bukowski, junior pitcher Trae Sanders, and senior infielder Ryan Bauerle.

Bukowski landed himself on the MAC All-Conference First Team after another phenomenal season. He finished the season with a .356 batting average, a1.165 OPS, and tallied 47 hits including 10 home runs. Sanders was given MAC All-Conference Second Team honors after posting a 3.47 ERA with a 1.39 WHIP and striking out 41. Bauerle continued to be reliable at the plate for the Pride and earned an All-MAC Honorable Mention Team selection after slashing .324/.420/.480. Burke emerged last season as the Pride's new starting shortstop and has a solid year at the plate with a .866 OPS, 11 doubles, and six home runs.

The Pride begin the 2026 season on Sunday, February 15th when they travel to Winchester, Va. For a double header against Shenandoah. They then will take a trip down to North Carolina on Saturday, February 21st to play Gettysburg and William Peace. They conclude their trip in North Carolina the following day with another game against William Peace. After the Pride return home, they will play one more road game against Kean before their home opener on Wednesday, February 25th against Swarthmore. They wrap up their February schedule with a double header against Washington College.

Widener begins their March schedule with a series against DeSales on Friday the sixth and Saturday the seventh. They will play Ursinus at home before conference play begins on Friday, March 13th against Messiah. Widener will face Alvernia the next weekend before playing two mid-week games against Haverford and TCNJ. They conclude March with a series against York and a mid-week game against Rutgers Camden.

April starts off with a home game against Salisbury on the first, followed by a series against Albright that weekend. The Pride will then conclude their season with three conference series against Stevenson, Hood, and Eastern.
