Slew Take on Haverford Seamus McElligott Invitational Before Snowfall

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Widener Men's Track and Field send a handful to Haverford's Seamus McElligott Invitaitonal as new personal bests show.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED ON THE TRACK
 
Jack Csensits captured a 7.11 in the 60-meter dash. First year Glenn Yirenkyi would clock a 7.47 and Brandon Catherine sprinted to a 7.76.
 
Yirenkyi and Catherine continued their day in the 200-meter dash with a 24.86 and 26.75 respectively. 
 
The 800-meter run showed Ashton Ray, David Abbey, Ethan Ng, Zach Rementer, and Gavin Kelly. Ray led with a 2:04.62 while Abbey finished close behind with a 2:07.64. Ng clocked a 2:09.24, Rementer a 2:09.90 and Kelly wrapped the group up with a 2:09.91.
 
Rementer ran a conference qualifying time with a 4:32.78 in the mile. Kelly came in next with a 4:36.04 and Abbey showed a 4:38.51.
 
In the 60-meter hurdles, Tristen Silverstein sprinted to a 9.03 while Troy Wallace clocked a 9.23.
 
Elijah Celestin, Derek Rudd, Xaiver Nesbeth, and Silverstein ran a 1:33.70 in the 4x200-meter relay.
 
The quad of Celestin, Mikeal Palmieri, Rudd, and Nesbeth clocked a 3:33.91 in the 4x400-meter relay.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED IN THE FIELD
 
Brennan Pringle vaulted to a 3.95-meter height in the pole vault.
 
Csensits would show a 6.54-meter long jump on his final attempt. Wallace would mark a 5.57-meter distance on his final attempt.
 
In the shot put Ashton Brown threw an 11.66-meter distance.
 
The weight throw showed John Kodack throwing a 15.43-meter distance on his fifth attempt to place third. Kevin Williams would mark a 13.22-meter distance while Brown threw a 12.91-meter mark.
 
UP NEXT
Widener returns to competition on Saturday, January 31 for their home hosted Schuylkill Showcase at UPenn's Ott Center in Philadelphia.
