CHESTER, Pa. - Widener softball head coach Jamie Lachall has released the Pride's 2026 schedule.
Widener closed the 2025 season with a 13–26 record, including a 3–11 mark in conference action, finishing seventh overall.
Coach Jamie Lachall is eager to continue working with her squad as she enters her fourth season at the helm of the Widener softball program.
"Our staff is excited for a new season with young competitors who are driven to grow, compete, and make a real difference on the field."
Widener returns key talent in 2026, highlighted by two All-Conference selections: Jocelin Mayorga and Elizabeth Carney. Mayorga was named to the Second Team in her rookie season, batting .271 with 15 RBIs and two home runs, while also serving as a key presence in the circle with a 2.08 WHIP and a 5.42 ERA. Fellow first-year standout Carney earned Honorable Mention recognition, posting a .325 batting average and leading the team with 42 hits, three triples, and two home runs.
Widener opens the 2026 season on the road on March 1, facing PSU Brandywine, then has games against Haverford and Virginia Wesleyan. The Pride will return to Chester for its home opener on March 11 against the University of Rochester at Fred Dorhmann Field, before taking on conference powerhouse Messiah away. They will then play Cedar Crest on March 19th at home. All Widener softball contests are scheduled as doubleheaders. The Pride will continue their homestand with matchups against Alvernia and Stockton. To close out March, Widener travels to PSU Abington and then hosts conference opponents York and Wilkes.
April begins with a road matchup at Albright on April 4, followed by a return home to face Delaware Valley on April 7. The Pride will then embark on a mid-month road stretch against Immaculata, Stevenson, and Neumann. Widener closes the month with a home contest versus Hood and a road game at Rutgers–Camden, before wrapping up the regular season at home against Eastern on April 25.
