CHESTER, Pa. – A rainy, weather delayed Saturday evening game for Widener Men's Soccer ends in a tough loss.
The 0-2 loss moves the Pride to 1-2 in the regular season.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Will Cole, Ryan Davis, and Bryan Gaviria would each have a shot on offense.
- The defense would hold strong for the majority of the game against a strong Dickinson attack.
- Tristen Wiley would register a pair of saves.
- The Pride would hold three shots (one of net) and take four corners.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- A defense start for the Pride began the grueling 90 minutes of play. An attacking piece would see a Cole shot at 15:10 that would sail wide. Willey saw a save at the 19th minute mark to keep the attacking Red Devils quiet. Gaviria would pick up a yellow card at the 39th minute as the Pride headed into half deadlocked at zero.
- Out of half, the Red Devils would strike first with a 48th minute goal. Max Hartke would pick up his first yellow card of the season at the 52nd minute mark. The Pride would dial up a set piece from the corner that would fall shot before Gaviria ripped a shot in the bottom center forcing the Red Devils keeper to make a save. The Red Devils would strike at the 76th minute to end the game with a 2-0 lead over the Pride.
