BY THE NUMBERS
HOW IT HAPPENED
-
The Pride wasted little time making its mark on the season. Just over six minutes into the first quarter, Bryk found the back of the net off a setup from Rocha and Mallozzi, giving the Pride an early 1-0 lead.
-
That momentum carried into the second quarter, with the Pride maintaining their pressure on the Owls. Following a series of penalty corners and relentless attacking, Cenci found the goal, extending the lead to 2-0.
-
The Owls fought back in the third quarter, with Maggie Barilla of Bryn Mawr cutting the deficit just 31 seconds in, and less than a minute later, the Owls tied the game 2-2. Widener responded almost immediately with Cenci delivering her second goal of the night off a feed from Mallozzi, putting the Pride back in front 3-2.
-
In the fourth, Widener's defense held firm, anchored by goalkeeper Rejrat's four clutch saves. The Pride stayed composed under pressure to lock down their first victory on the road, ending with a score of 3-2.
