CHESTER, Pa. - Widener Field Hockey suffers a loss in their first home game of the season, losing 5-2 to Stevens.
The Pride drop to 1-1 on the season and remain 0-0 in conference play.

In the second quarter, the Pride's defense settled in. Lilly Rejrat stopped three shots to keep the Ducks scoreless, while the Pride earned two penalty corners of their own. Despite the improved play and two shots by Bervinchack, the Pride went into halftime trailing 3-0.

The third quarter saw Widener continue to push forward, generating four shots and two corners. Bervinchack put a shot on goal, but the Ducks added to their lead to make it 4-0 heading into the fourth.

The Pride refused to back down in the final quarter. After the Ducks extended their advantage to 5-0, the Pride surged late. Bryk broke through to score her second goal of the year, and just 52 seconds later, Bervinchak scored her first. The Pride's late rally made it 5-2, but time ran out on a comeback effort.
