MINNEAPOLIS - Widener Football defensive end Jalen Walker was named to the D3football.com Preseason All-American team, as announced by D3football.com on Monday (Aug. 18) afternoon.

Walker, a Mount Laurel, N.J. native, had a season for the books during the 2024 campaign. The defense end picked up a handful of postseason awards starting with a MAC First Team All-Conference selection. The awards continued with an AFCA First Team All-American, the first since 2019, and a D3football.com All-Region selection. 

Walker's 2024 season stood out as his best with a total of 44 tackles, 24.5 tackles for losses (102 yards), 14 sacks, and four quarterback hurry ups. The defensive specialist would finish the season leading the nation in TFLs with 2.2 per game and ended fourth in sacks with 1.27 per game.

Widener football returns Walker for his final season of play in the 2025 season.
