GENEVA, Ohio – Widener Track and Field to send five to NCAA Championships following top marks in the country.

This year's NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field are slated for Thurs to Sat, May 22-24 in Geneva, Ohio at the Spire Institute. The Spire Institute will host the outdoor championships for the fourth time and is home to a nine lane, 400-meter track with four long jump pits, eight high jump positions, and four pole vault boxes.  The campus sits on a 750-acre plot of land.

This year, the Pride will send Samuel Knowles, Matayo McGraw, and Isaac Almoney from the men's side and Gabby Nye and Kayla Robinson from the women's side. Of the five qualified, four hold All-American honors from previous years.

Knowles is set to compete in the 400-meter dash on Friday, May 23 at 3 p.m. Knowles returns to the NCAA Championships for the third straight year following a 47.19 from Widener's Paul Donahue Invitational and a gold medal from MAC Championships.

Another local to NCAA Championships is Nye. Nye's distance stretch continues this season with a qualification in the 5000-meter run after her 16:34.06 from Widener's Final Qualifier. Currently Nye ranks seventh in the nation and is looking to continue her success after a gold at MAC Championships. The 5k is set to race at 4:25 p.m. on Saturday, May 24.

On the field side, McGraw will take to the pit in the triple jump on Saturday, May 24 at 11 a.m. while Almoney goes to the circle in the hammer throw later in the afternoon at 1:45 p.m.

McGraw's postseason meets continue to accumulate as he returns for his second year in the triple jump. The men's triple jump will begin on Saturday, May 24 at 11 a.m. and will showcase his 15.25-meter distance from MAC Championships as he goes in seeded third.

First time qualifier, Almoney will make his NCAA Championship debut in the hammer throw after his 60.60-meter throw at MAC Championships earlier this month. Almoney joins the top nation rankings at 10th.

Another familiar face to a championship meet is senior Robinson. Robinson will compete in the long jump on Thursday, May 22 at 5:30 p.m. and the triple jump on Saturday, May 24 at 1:45 p.m. In the long jump, Robinson currently ranks 17th with a 5.84-meter distance from MAC Championships. A 12.10-meter jump in the triple jump qualifies her eighth set at Bison Outdoor Classic in Apr.
