HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Widener jumped out to an early lead as Mia Robbins and Lindsay Kutz were active on the boards and Mary McFillin connected on a three to fuel Widener to an 11-2 run to start the game. A late fast-break layup by Kutz extended the lead to 22-12 by the end of the quarter.
  • The Pride maintained control with a balanced attack in the second, getting key contributions from Kaitlyn Kearney and Jayla Daniels. A three-pointer from Mary McFillin helped push the lead to double digits, and Widener's defense limited York to just 6 points in the paint for the quarter. At halftime, Widener led 43-27.
  • Widener continued its offensive efficiency in the third, with Robbins dominating inside and Kearney making trips to the free-throw line. The team went on an 8-2 run early in the quarter to maintain their advantage. Defensively, the Pride held York to just five rebounds in the period.
  • York made a late push, outscoring Widener 21-12 in the final frame, but the early lead proved too much to overcome. Free throws from Kearney and clutch rebounding from Kutz helped Widener seal the 76-64 victory.
