Men’s Swimming Falls to Washington College in Final Meet of 2025

 CHESTER, Pa. – Quick meet format favored Washington College as Widener Men's Swimming fell on senior day.
 
The 136-69 loss moves the Pride to 4-3 in the regular season with a 4-0 record in conference.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
 
The Pride opened with second place in the 200-yard medley relay. Bryce Garber, Michael Machristie, Adam Bailey, and Sean Lehan snagged a 1:46.09 and the b-lay.
 
A timing system malfunction changed the meet to hand timing as Bailey took second in the 1000-yard free. Bailey would swim a 11:03.72.
 
Lehan's second in the 200-yard free threw down a 1:49.67 to split the Shoremen.
 
A quick 50-yard free from Zach Delgado showed a 23.15 with Matthew Niro taking fourth with a 23.42.
 
Bailey's second individual event of the afternoon came in the 200-yard individual medley where he touched in a 2:10.69. Colin Ergood would take fourth with a 2:15.25.
 
Niro took second in the 100-yard butterfly as he clocked a 55.19, barely missing first by 0.01.
 
Delgado led a 4-5-6-7 finish in the 100-yard free as he led with a 50.46. Naveen Boggi (51.50), Noah Fedo (54.65), and John Drobnock (1:14.07) followed.
 
In the 100-yard backstroke, Niro took third with a 58.88.
 
Lehan's distance racing showed a first in the 500-yard free where he touched with a 4:55.90 to win by nearly 30 seconds. Benjamin Holub took third with a 5:24.57 to just miss out on second.
 
Machristie's breaststroke showed a 1:04.31 for the 100-yard event. Marcus Moreef snuck into fourth with a 1:11.08.
 
The Pride wrapped up senior day with a second from Boggi, Ergood, Garber, and Delgado in the 200-yard free relay with a 1:31.63.
 
UP NEXT
Widener heads to sunny Punta Cana for their annual training trip in January and returns to the pool against 2-3 (2-2 MAC) Arcadia Knights on Friday, January 16 at 6 p.m.
