NEWTOWN, Pa. – Elizabeth Barnes of the Widener Women's Volleyball team secured the MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week honor for the week ending on Oct. 5, 2025, the conference office announced.

Elizabeth Barnes anchored Widener's defense with 107 digs and no ball-handling errors across four matches—all victories. She posted a season-high 37 digs in a 3-2 win over King's and nearly matched it with 34 in a 3-1 win over Susquehanna.

Widener 9-9 (2-0 MAC) will be on the road this Wednesday as they face Albright in a MAC Conference Game. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
