Owings Mills, MD. – Widener Women's Soccer suffers a heartbreaking defeat on late goal from the Stevenson Mustangs.
The Pride are now 6-5-3 on the season and 1-2 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both sides played a tight defensive half with limited chances. Widener earned a corner kick in the 18th minute and later saw shots from Avery Drumbore and Charlotte Burke, both narrowly missing the target. The Widener defense held firm as Araba Abanyie faced no shots on goal in the opening 45 minutes, sending the teams into halftime tied 0–0.
- Widener opened aggressively, earning three corner kicks in the first eight minutes of the half. Mia Garofalo tested the Stevenson goalkeeper with a low strike in the 72nd minute. Meanwhile, Abanyie made several key saves — including back-to-back stops in the 68th and 69th minutes — to preserve the scoreless tie. Stevenson finally broke through in the 86th minute, scoring the go-ahead goal. Despite a late push from Widener, the Pride were unable to find an equalizer and would lose by a final score of 1-0
