  • Jayla Daniels provided a spark off the bench with 4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal in 12 minutes of play.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The game started as a defensive battle, with both teams struggling to find offensive rhythm. Widener scored just 9 points in the opening quarter, matching Albright's total to keep things tied at 9-9. Key contributions came from Mary McFillin, who made an early layup to keep Widener competitive. The defense was active, with Widener forcing multiple turnovers, including 4 steals in the quarter.

  • Widener found more offensive flow in the second quarter, scoring 18 points. Mia Robbins and Lindsay Kutz began to heat up, combining for several key baskets to help Widener take control. Robbins scored on a mid-range jumper and added a second-chance tip-in, while Kutz's layups kept the pressure on Albright. Despite Albright's efforts, Widener's ability to capitalize on turnovers and offensive rebounds gave them a slight edge, leading 27-21 at halftime.

  • The third quarter was the most productive for Widener, as they scored 22 points to maintain their momentum. Mia Robbins dominated inside, scoring multiple baskets in the paint, while Kimberly Casiello added a key three-pointer to extend the lead. Widener's defense continued to disrupt Albright, and Jayla Daniels added a highlight layup in transition, assisted by Lindsay Kutz, contributing to a strong offensive run. Widener entered the fourth quarter with a slim lead after fending off an Albright push.

  • The final quarter was closely contested, with both teams trading baskets. Widener's offense slowed, managing 13 points, but the team relied on Lindsay Kutz and Mia Robbins to make critical shots down the stretch. Robbins's ability to draw fouls and convert free throws kept Widener within striking distance. Despite a late run by Albright, Widener's defense held strong, but they ultimately fell short in a narrow 64-62 loss.
